I’ve been horribly negligent, what with moving and having a catastrophic steam leak at my new place and going to Seoul and writing some fun assignments for Hemi. But in the interim, I’ve done some domestic stuff too!
The big news is that I’m almost done with a 5-year(ish) knitting project, a cardigan for my dad. I’m a little in love with the yarn (Rowan DK Tweed) and I’ll be sad to stop working with it, but I’ve vowed to only knit for myself for a while. I’m remembering how great it is to keep my hands busy so I don’t eat Oreos/go insane while watching TV.
I’ve also been doing a lot of cooking, of course. I think it’s safe to say I’ve mastered fried chicken, and I’ve been exploring the world of lamb chops, which can frequently be procured for $2.49/pound at my new local grocery store
Next on my list is eggs benedict. Well, more likely eggs florentine, as I can’t abide the smell of bacon. Even when it’s Canadian. Sorry Mom. I’m very intimidated by the prospect of making a mayonnaiseesque sauce, but I wake up thinking about hollandaise every weekend. Maybe I should get out more. My life seems to be returning to a normal pace, so I will conquer hollandaise–and then the world! And I’ll never abandon all six of my readers again. Cross my heart.

I’ll bring it in for everyone when I bring in those red velvet cupcakes I’ve been threatening to make. It will be a fest!
